Leider haben wir an diesen Ort den wir besuchen sehr schlechtes Netz. Auch unsere normale Simkarte bietet an diesem Ort schlechten Empfang. In der Stadt funktioniert der Empfang tadellos.

I used an eSIM last year that worked after much effort & worry. But really I am not 100% sure how I got it to work, and I am pretty computer savvy. This time with eTravel everything was straight forward and exactly as per the directions. From the web application form, payment, downloading with the QR code, and adding the APN, all were straight forward and worked like a charm. I arrived in Rome, switched off my sim, activated eTravel Sim, and finally chose the new APN and almost instantaneously I had internet access!. Like magic!!! Thanks...

Check first whether your model of phone supports eSIMs. I found a comment online that Samsungs do, but on trying to install an eSIM I found that only more recent, top-end Samsungs are set up for them and so I was unable to use it. ETravelSim were very helpful and refunded my purchase so I would recommend them to anyone.
